Standards

What are there STANDARDS and why do we have them.  

A standard or best practice is a method or technique that has consistently shown results superior to those achieved with other means. It is used as a benchmark and can evolve to become better as improvements are discovered.  A standard way of doing things that multiple organizations can use.

In disaster communication there is a high probability that convergent communications volunteers from other areas will be used. Using common standards or best practices will reduce stress and the need for onsite training.
