Backup MSG files
How to backup your system folder message files.
1. All messages are stored in the C:\RMS Express\YOURCALL \Messages folder
2. Create a backup folder eg. c:\RMS Express\backup
3. Use file explorer to move all the files to the backup folder
All RMS Express generated files are in the .mime format (logs, messages, scipts and templates) they can be read by Notepad or Wordpad
Note : What ever is in any of the system folders will be copied in the method.
Keep your files clean!
ARCHIVING FILES
With all message saved and nothing in any of the other system folders
Winrar and use the wizard function
1. Create a new archive
2. Change to the C:\RMS Express\YOURCALL\Messages
3. CTRL A (highlights all message) then "OK"
4. Click on "Browse" go to where you want the archive file to end up and give the archive file a name and or date eg. Messages Oct 5 2013 and click "Next"
5. Choose what type of archive to use (we use self extracting) and "Finish"
You will end up with a compressed backup file in the folder you want.
Now got back and delete all the messages in the c:\RMS Express\Yourcall\Messages folder
SNAPSHOT OF MESSAGES
Complete copy of all messages in all of the system folders
Winrar and use the wizard function
1. Choose "Create a new archive" click "Next"
2. Change to the C:\RMS Express\YOURCALL\Messages then CTRL A (highlights all message) then "OK"
3. Click on "Browse" go to where you want the archive file to end up and give the archive file a name and or date eg. Messages Oct 5 2013 and click "Next"
4. Choose what type of archive to use (we use self extracting) and "Finish"
You will end up with a snapshot compressed backup file in the folder you want.
